Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha will deliver a keynote speech and have virtual talks with Professor Jared Diamond at a “Future Dialogue for Global Innovation” event on November 16.

The upcoming event will be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to seek a cultural solution to challenges facing the international community along with prominent scholars and artists from home and abroad. This year, the discussion will cover cultural ways to overcome discrimination and hatred intensified by COVID-19.

In her keynote speech, Minister Kang will highlight the importance of shared cultural experiences in creating a world where diversity is respected. 

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Taeho will deliver words of encouragement at the final presentation of “the new northern young future pioneer group” on November 17.

At the event, a panel of judges composed of experts will evaluate the outcomes of the project activities of realizing the New Northern Policy carried out by the nine teams of the pioneer group, and present a Foreign Minister’s award to the most outstanding team.

In his remarks, Vice Minister Lee will commend the members of the pioneer group for conducting activities of seeking entry into the Russian market, and ask them to continuously take interest in advancing the relations between the Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation.
