Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha will attend the Global Vaccine Summit 2020 to be organized by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, in a video format today, June 4.

The forthcoming meeting will bring together delegates of about 40 donor countries as well as major relevant international organizations and private groups to raise funds for the projects to be carried out under the next five-year strategy of Gavi, which was launched in 2000 and has facilitated the vaccination of more than 760 million children.

Minister Kang will introduce the efforts of the government of the Republic of Korea to cooperate with the international community for effective response to COVID-19 and will express its commitment to continuing contribution to Gavi. The ROK government will continue to take an active part in and to contribute to the international community’s efforts to respond to COVID-19.
