Kim Hee-sang, former Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs, has been appointed as Korea’s G20 Sherpa (government representative), succeeding Song In-chang.

The G20 Sherpa takes part in negotiations on G20 issues on behalf of the President and leads Korea’s domestic and external preparations for G20 Summits.

※ Kim Hee-sang will assume the role of Korea’s G20 Sherpa on March 14.

The government of the Republic of Korea will participate actively in various G20 consultations leading up to the Miami G20 Summit to be held on December 14-15 this year, while continuing preparations for the success of the G20 Summit in Korea in 2028.
