1. On April 9, a Mekong-ROK Senior Officials’ Meeting was held online to hand over the co-chairmanship of the Mekong-ROK Cooperation. The meeting was attended by the SOM leaders for Mekong-ROK Cooperation of the ROK, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam. Director-General for ASEAN and Southeast Asian Affairs Kim Dong-bae of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROK and Secretary of State Meas Kim Heng of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia co-chaired the meeting.

2. At this meeting, the co-chairmanship of Mekong-ROK Cooperation was handed over from Cambodia, which had served as co-chair for the past three years, to Lao PDR. Participants also discussed the proposal to improve the management of the Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund and the 12th Mekong-ROK Business Forum.
