1. On November 11 (Thursday), Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs Lee Seong-ho met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel J. Kritenbrink, who is on a visit to Korea between November 10 and 12.
2. Deputy Minister Lee and Assistant Secretary Kritenbrink appreciated the close cooperation continuing across a range of issues, including supply chain, critical technologies, vaccines, and climate change, as displayed at the ROK-U.S. Summit, the G20 Summit and the COP 26.
o Both sides reaffirmed determination to jointly take on issues relating economic security, which gained significance due to frequent disruptions of the global supply chain. Both sides also shared the importance of intensifying policy coordination with regards to clean energy transition, in support of global efforts to attain the sustainability goals.
3. Deputy Minister Lee and Assistant Secretary Kritenbrink agreed to continue working together towards a successful ROK-U.S. Senior Economic Dialogue (SED) scheduled to take place in December.
