1. On July 9, Director-General for North American Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ko Yunju had a meeting with Director-General of the North American Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan Ichikawa Keiichi in Tokyo. 

2. The meeting took place face to face unlike last year’s meeting held virtually and the two Directors-General extensively discussed matters of mutual interest including results and follow-up measures of the ROK-U.S. / U.S.-Japan summits both held in the first half of this year, the two countries’ bilateral relations with the U.S., and regional affairs. In addition, the two Directors-General recognized the significance of trilateral cooperation among Korea, the U.S. and Japan.
