1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong spoke with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand Don Pramudwinai on the phone on April 30 and exchanged views on the result of the ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting held on April 24.

˚ Foreign Minister Don explained the main outcome of the ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting including the five-point consensus on Myanmar, and Foreign Minister Chung expressed the Korean government’s support for ASEAN’s constructive role in finding a solution to the situation in Myanmar and as well as Korea’s readiness to provide all possible support for the speedy implementation of the consensus.

˚ Foreign Minister Chung reiterated the Korean government’s willingness to provide humanitarian assistance to displaced Myanmar citizens, in response to which Foreign Minister Don extended appreciation and suggested that Korea and Thailand continue to consult.

2. In addition, the two Foreign Ministers reaffirmed the importance of cooperation on COVID-19 response to overcome the global COVID-19 crisis and agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in this regard.
