1. The Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) will host the 2021 East Asian Diplomacy Program (EADP) Special Lecture Series for foreign diplomats to Korea at the Korea Diplomacy Center (KDC) from April 19 to May 12.

° The “East Asian Diplomacy Program (EADP)” launched in 2020 by the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea, is a specialized education program for foreign diplomats.

° Sixty-five foreign diplomats to Korea from a total of 38 countries have applied for this educational course, reflecting the high interest in the EADP among the diplomatic corps in Korea.

2. The EADP is expected to help Korea strengthen its position on diplomatic issues in East Asia and lead diplomatic cooperation on the international stage by discussing rapidly changing diplomatic issues in East Asia and global issues such as health security, environmental issues and multilateral security and sharing Korea’s key foreign policies, including the process of establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula, with foreign diplomats.

° In particular, the upcoming program for foreign diplomats is expected to serve as an opportunity to share COVID-19 experiences and to step up exchanges and cooperation with the diplomatic corps in Korea in order for the international community to overcome COVID-19 together, amid the rapidly changing global situation due to COVID-19.

3. The special course will take place in compliance with strict quarantine requirements in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including the mandatory wearing of face masks, distancing between the participants, and regular disinfection.

4. The KNDA will continue efforts to expand the pro-Korean diplomatic community and to enhance Korea’s national image in the international community by holding the EADP regularly for not only members of the diplomatic corps in Korea but foreign diplomats in general.
