1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong will make a working visit to Xiamen, Fujian province of China, from April 2 to 3 at the invitation of State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi and have a Korea-China Foreign Ministers’ meeting on April 3.

2. The upcoming visit to China carries significance as part of continued strategic communication with major neighboring countries of the Korean Peninsula following the Korea-U.S. Foreign Ministers’ meeting on March 17 and the Korea-Russia Foreign Ministers’ meeting on March 25.

3. The forthcoming Korea-China Foreign Ministers’ meeting is expected to serve as an opportunity to explore ways to advance Korea-China bilateral relations and to exchange in-depth views on Korean Peninsula, regional and global issues.

4. The visit to China by a Korean Foreign Minister will take place about three years after the bilateral visit to China in November 2017, and the Korea-China Foreign Ministers’ meeting will be held around four months after the one on November 26, 2020.
