1. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov will visit Korea from March 23 to 25.

2. Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong will hold a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Lavrov on March 25, and have a broad exchange of views on bilateral relations, Korean Peninsula issues, substantive cooperation, and global affairs.

3. On March 24 afternoon, the two Foreign Ministers will attend “Opening Ceremony for 2020-2021 Year of Mutual Exchange between Republic of Korea and Russian Federation” hosted by the Foreign Ministries of the two countries in celebration of the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Russia.

o The opening ceremony, to be held with 50 guests of honor from the two countries in strict compliance with sanitary measures to prevent COVID-19, will feature congratulatory remarks by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, a sculpture-lighting ceremony, and a joint jazz performance by musicians from the two countries.

4. Foreign Minister Lavrov’s upcoming visit to Korea is expected to serve as an opportunity to strengthen strategic communication between the two countries and further deepen their friendly and cooperative relations.
