1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong talked over the phone with Secretary-General of ASEAN Lim Jock Hoi on February 25 and discussed the implementation of the New Southern Policy and Korea-ASEAN cooperation as well as regional affairs.

2. The two sides agreed to work actively together so that Korea-ASEAN cooperation pursuant to the seven initiatives of the New Southern Policy Plus can produce tangible results. They also agreed to step up bilateral cooperation in order to overcome COVID-19 and achieve economic recovery in the near future.

3. The two sides also shared concerns over the current situation in Myanmar as well as the understanding that it is important for ASEAN to play a constructive role in resolving the crisis.
