1. The interagency advance team, which was dispatched to the UK and Sierra Leone to prepare for the planned dispatch of medical personnel to join the fight against the Ebola epidemic, has completed its mission that lasted from November 13 through 21. The majority of the team members will head home on November 21 as scheduled.
2. The government of the Republic of Korea, seeing a need to hold the first round of consultations with the UK on the text of the bilateral memorandum of understanding on the planned dispatch of Korean medical personnel based on the outcome of its fact-finding mission in Sierra Leone, has decided to extend the period of work of five members of the team -- the team leader and one from each government agency represented in the team. The five will return home early next week after additional consultations with the UK government.
3. After the entire advance team returns home, the ROK government will set a concrete plan for the dispatch of medical personnel based on the team’s report on the current Ebola-related situation in Sierra Leone and consultations with the UK government.
