1. Cho Tae-yong, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs and head of the delegation of the Republic of Korea to the Six-Party Talks, will visit Russia from August 13 through 15 for a consultation with his Russian counterpart.

2. During his first visit to Russia since his taking office, Special Representative Cho will meet with Igor Morgulov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister and head delegate to the Six-Party Talks. In the meeting, the two sides will make an assessment of the current situation on the Korean Peninsula and discuss ways to address the North Korean nuclear issue down the road.

3. Special Representative Cho will also meet with other Russian officials to exchange extensive views on North Korea and its nuclear issue.
