On Saturday, August 8, Consul General Kwangsuk Lee attended the 81st Korean National Liberation Day Commemoration Ceremony and the 21st Calgary Korean Day Festival, organized by the Calgary Korean Association and held in downtown Calgary.

In his congratulatory remarks, Consul General Lee highlighted the significance of attending and delivering remarks at the event as his first official engagement since taking office. He praised Calgary’s inclusiveness and diversity, supported by its rich tourism and energy resources, as well as the vitality of the Korean community and its strong connection to and affection for the homeland.

He also called on the Korean community in Calgary to play an active role in further developing the strategic partnership between Korea and Canada, and pledged the Consulate’s continued support and commitment to the Korean community.
