Official Rules – Logo Design Contest
125 Years of Diplomatic Relations between Belgium and Korea (1901–2026)
1. Context and Purpose
In 2026, Belgium and the Republic of Korea will celebrate 125 years of diplomatic relations—a historic milestone that highlights the enduring friendship, mutual respect, and dynamic cooperation between our two nations. To mark this anniversary, the Embassy of Belgium in Seoul, in collaboration with the Embassy of Korea in Brussels, is organizing a year-long series of cultural, artistic, diplomatic, and economic events.
To visually unify these celebrations, both embassies are launching a logo design contest. The winning logo will serve as the official visual identity of the 125th anniversary and will be used across all communications and events in both countries.
2. Eligibility
The contest is open to residents of Belgium and Korea, regardless of nationality.
Participation is free of charge.
Entries may be submitted individually.
Each participant may submit only one entry.
3. Submission Guidelines
Deadline: October 30, 2025, at 23:59 CEST
Submissions must be sent via email to: seoul@diplobel.fed.be and eukorea@mofa.go.kr
Email subject line: Logo Contest – [Participant Name] (in English)
Each submission must include:
- The logo in the required formats (see Section 4)
- A short note (max. 300 words) explaining the design and symbolism
- A signed declaration of originality (DOCX, 25.05 KB)
4. Technical Requirements
To ensure the logo is versatile and usable across various platforms and formats, the following specifications must be met:
File Formats
Vector: .AI, .EPS, or .SVG (mandatory)
Image: .PNG (transparent background) and .JPG (high resolution)
Presentation: PDF showing the logo in context (e.g., on banners, social media, official documents, e-mail signature, etc)
Design Specifications
Resolution: Minimum 300 dpi
Minimum dimensions: 2000 x 2000 pixels
Colour versions required: Full colour (CMYK and RGB) / Black and white / Monochrome (single colour)
The logo must be scalable and legible at various sizes.
Design Tools
Participants may use any design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Canva, CoreIDraw, Figma, Inkscape), as long as the final files meet the above requirements.
5. Evaluation Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated by a binational jury composed of representatives from both embassies.
The criteria include:
Creativity and originality
Relevance to the theme of 125 years of diplomatic relations
Aesthetic quality and visual impact
Technical execution and adaptability
The final selection made by the jury is subject to validation by the Federal Public Service (FPS) Foreign Affairs of Belgium and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. The communication teams of both institutions reserve the right to adapt or modify the submitted design to ensure compliance with their respective visual identity guidelines and institutional communication standards.
6. Prizes
First Prize:
€500 grant and Galaxy Watch jointly awarded by the Embassy of Belgium in Seoul and the Embassy of Korea in Brussels
Official use of the logo in all anniversary-related communications and events
The winner will be formally recognized at one of the two ceremonies, depending on their country of residence.
- The King’s Day Reception in Seoul (November 2025)
- A dedicated ceremony in Brussels hosted by the Korean Embassy
Additional prizes or honourable mentions may be awarded at the jury’s discretion.
7. Intellectual Property and Usage Rights
By submitting a design, participants confirm that the work is entirely original and does not infringe on any third-party rights.
The winning participant(s) agree to transfer all intellectual property rights of the logo to the organizing embassies, including the right to reproduce, modify, and distribute the logo in any format and on any platform, without time or territorial limitation.
Non-winning entries remain the property of their creators but may be featured in exhibitions or online galleries with proper credit.
8. Legal Provisions and Disputes
This contest is governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Belgium and the Republic of Korea.
In the event of a dispute, the organizing embassies reserve the right to interpret and apply these rules.
The embassies reserve the right to cancel or modify the contest in case of unforeseen circumstances.
9. Acceptance of the Rules
Participation in the contest implies full and unconditional acceptance of these rules.
