Official Visit to New South Wales (NSW) (18-20 March)

H.E. Admiral (Retd) Seungseob Sim, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Australia, paid an official visit to New South Wales (NSW) from 18 to 20 March.

During the visit, Ambassador Sim met with dignitaries and key officials including H.E. the Hon Margaret Beazley, Governor of NSW, the Hon Ben Franklin MLC, President of the Legislative Council of NSW, the Hon Greg Piper MP, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Hon Anoulack Chanthivong, Minister for Industry and Trade, the Hon Paul Scully MP, Minister for Planning and Public Spaces, the Hon Justice Julie Ward, President of the Court of Appeal and the Hon Mark Speakman MP, Leader of the Opposition in NSW.

Ambassador Sim held broad discussions on strengthening bilateral relations between Korea and Australia, as well as enhancing cooperation between Korea and NSW. He also asked for continued interest and support to safeguard the Korean community and to promote the successful activities of Korean businesses in NSW.

In addition, Ambassador Sim visited the Lowy Institute, Anzac Memorial, NSW Korean War Memorial, Westmead Health and Innovations Precinct, Cicada Innovations. He also met with representatives of the Korean community and Korean companies operating in NSW, encouraging their active engagement in fostering the prosperity of the Korean community and the development of Korea-Australia economic relations.
