Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha will meet with Mr. Stephen Biegun, Deputy Secretary of State and Special Representative for North Korea of the United States, on the morning of July 8.

After the meeting, the 8^th ROK-U.S. Vice Foreign Ministerial Strategic Dialogue will be held, with Vice Minister Cho Sei-young and Deputy Secretary Biegun leading their respective delegations. The Strategic Dialogue will be followed by an ROK-U.S. meeting of top negotiators on the North Korean nuclear issue.

In the series of meetings, the two countries will reaffirm the steadfast ROK-U.S. alliance and have in-depth discussions on issues on the Korean Peninsula as well as regional and global issues.
