Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Today, March 19, Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha will have a multilateral telephone consultation on response to COVID-19 with her counterparts of countries affected by the virus.

In the consultation, the foreign ministers will share their respective countries' efforts and policies for responding to COVID-19, and discuss ways for collaboration, including holding a special video conference among the leaders of the G20 countries.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha will also have a telephone consultation today with Mr. Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and exchange views on ways for cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the EU over the spread of COVID-19 in Europe.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been making efforts for communication and cooperation at multilateral, regional and bilateral levels amid the vital need for international collaboration due to the global spread of COVID-19.
