Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Tae-ho will visit Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and co-chair the 2^nd ROK-UAE High-level Consultation on Nuclear Cooperation with UAE Minister of Energy and Industry Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei on November 27.

At the upcoming consultation, cooperation in jointly entering nuclear power plant markets in the third countries, research and development of nuclear technology and ways for cooperation in the areas of safety and regulation will be discussed.

On the occasion of this consultation, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on nuclear research and development cooperation is expected to be concluded in order to lay an institutional foundation for substantive research and development cooperation between the two countries.
