Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

At 3:10 pm, shortly after today’s press briefing, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Tae-ho will conclude a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) for cooperation with President & CEO of KOTRA Kwon Pyung-oh.

Pursuant to the MOU, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will consistently assist activities of KOTRA’s overseas offices to promote economy and trade, including helping small and medium-sized enterprises build their presence in overseas markets, creating jobs overseas, and attracting foreign investment.

The MOU is expected to help the Ministry and KOTRA increase cooperation and thereby create synergistic effects and strengthen capacity for economic diplomacy.
