Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha will meet with Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) David Beasley at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, May 13.

The two sides will exchange views on ways to jointly respond to global humanitarian crises and a joint FAO/WFP rapid Food Security Assessment in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, which was released on May 3.

Executive Director Beasley’s forthcoming visit to the Republic of Korea will mark his third since his inauguration in March 2017. During the visit, he will attend “the 3^rd Global ODA Forum for Sustainable Agricultural Development” to be hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
