Spokesperson and Deputy Minister for Public Relations Noh Kyu-duk
September 6, 2018 14:30 KST
Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.
Today, I have one announcement to make.
Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha will attend the “diplomatic talk talk: the Minister goes to Jeonju” event to take place at Woosuk University in Jeonju, south of Seoul, on September 7.
At the event, Minister Kang will deliver a special lecture to Woosuk University students and other citizens, in which she will touch on the Foreign Ministry’s “diplomacy with the people” policy, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and the current diplomatic tide of the Republic of Korea. She will then field questions from the audience.
Later in the day, the Minister will tour the Hanok (traditional Korean house) Village in Jeonju, accompanied by 30 members of the Diplomatic Corps in the ROK who will visit the city for a cultural tour.
The Foreign Ministry will use this forthcoming event as an opportunity to support efforts to cultivate talent, and boost tourism and economy in provinces in cooperation with provincial governments; and to continue helping provinces build international capacity.
Thank you.
