Outcome of Korea-U.S.-Japan Trilateral Video Teleconference (Feb. 19)

1. Amb. Noh Kyu-duk, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, had a Korea-U.S.-Japan trilateral video teleconference on North Korea issues with Amb. Sung Kim, U.S. Acting Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, and Mr. Takehiro Funakoshi, Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the morning of February 19.

 

2. The three sides shared their assessments of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and agreed to closely cooperate and coordinate to achieve denuclearization and the establishment of permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.

 

3. The three sides appreciated the usefulness of trilateral cooperation for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, and agreed to hold another consultation at an appropriate time.
