1. Amb. Noh Kyu-duk, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, had a telephone conversation with Mr. Stephen Biegun, Deputy Secretary of State and Special Representative for North Korea of the United States, on the morning of January 15.

2. The two sides shared their assessments of the current situation on the Korean Peninsula including North Korea’s 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, and exchanged views on ways for Korea and the U.S. to work together to make progress in achieving complete denuclearization and establishing permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.
