1. A preparatory meeting for the 1^st “Korea-Thailand Foreign and Health Ministers’ 2+2 Dialogue on Health Security” virtually took place among director-general-level officials of the foreign and health ministries of the two countries on January 14.

° The Korean delegation included Mr. Jung Yung-soo, head of the planning team under the COVID-19 Task Force at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Jeong Hong Geun, Director-General of the Bureau of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The Thai side consisted of Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Pongsadhorn Pokpermdee, senior advisor at the Ministry of Public Health.

2. The two sides agreed to hold the ministerial 2+2 Dialogue on Health Security in February and to discuss at the Dialogue such agenda items as cooperation on response to COVID-19 and other similar infectious diseases as well as cooperation on the health industry, regional health cooperation including with ASEAN, and ways for cooperation at multilateral fora such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA).
