1. The government of the Republic of Korea congratulates Liberal Democratic Party President Yoshihide Suga on his election as Japan’s 99^th Prime Minister and the launch of the new Cabinet on September 16.

2. The ROK government will cooperate actively with Prime Minister Suga and the new Cabinet to resolve historical issues wisely, and continue to strengthen substantive cooperation in a future-oriented and mutually-beneficial manner in a range of areas, including economic and cultural affairs as well as people-to-people exchanges.
