1. The government of the Republic of Korea welcomes the signing of a “political agreement” between President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ghani and Afghanistan’s former Chief Executive Abdullah on May 17.

2. The ROK government hopes that the political situation in Afghanistan will stabilize based on the agreement, and that intra-Afghan negotiations between the Afghan government and the Taliban will begin promptly in order to advance the Afghan peace process.

3. The ROK government will continue to take part in the international community’s efforts to establish stability and peace in Afghanistan.
