1. Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Kim Gunn met with new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Korea Xing Haiming at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the morning of February 6, and exchanged views on the novel coronavirus outbreak and the ROK-China relations.

2. Deputy Minister Kim extended congratulations on Ambassador Xing’s assumption of the post, offered sympathies to the novel coronavirus victims in China, hoped that the situation will be brought under control as soon as possible, and asked for continued cooperation in protecting Korean nationals in China.

o Ambassador Xing expressed appreciation for Deputy Minister Kim’s hospitality, explained that the Chinese government is actively combating the novel coronavirus outbreak, and extended deep gratitude for the ROK side’s support and cooperation in responding to the outbreak.

3. The two sides agreed to continue to closely cooperate to overcome the novel coronavirus situation together and advance the ROK-China relations.
