1. Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Yoon Soon-gu, together with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Luo Zhaohui, had a bilateral senior officials’ meeting (SOM) on the trilateral cooperation among the Republic of Korea (ROK), Japan and China, as well as a dinner in Beijing, China, on November 20. During the meeting and the dinner, the two sides extensively exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including the ROK-Japan-China trilateral cooperation, the ROK-China relations, and regional and global situations.

2. The two sides discussed ways to promote the ROK-Japan-China trilateral cooperation, including the Trilateral Summit.

° The two sides shared the understanding that the ROK and China will continue to increase and strengthen bilateral cooperation on various regional and global issues, including the ROK-Japan-China cooperation.

3. The two sides also took note of continued high-level communication between the ROK and China, as could be seen from the summit held on the occasion of the G20 Summit and the three Foreign Ministers’ meetings in 2019. They agreed to continue high-level exchanges more actively in order to develop the bilateral relations.

° The two sides agreed to continue to vitalize high-level exchanges between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries and various bilateral consultative mechanisms, and to accelerate bilateral cooperation in substantive areas, such as economic and people-to-people exchanges.

4. The two sides shared assessments of regional and global situations, including the current situations on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, and agreed to continue close communication and cooperation between the two countries.
