“12th Korea-Arab Friendship Caravan” Event to Take Place
1. “The 12th Korea-Arab Friendship Caravan” event will take place in the Republic of Tunisia on October 18-19 and in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on October 22, organized by the Korea-Arab Society (KAS) with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
2. “The Korea-Arab Friendship Caravan” has been held on an annual basis since 2008 to introduce the essence of Korean culture and art to the Arab region and to enhance understanding between the Republic of Korea and the Arab region.
- This year, two rounds of performances will be staged in the Tunisian capital of Tunis in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the ROK-Tunisia diplomatic relations, and one round of performances will be put on in Sharjah, the third largest of the UAE’s seven emirates and a hub of culture and art.
3. Performances of Samulnori (percussion quartet) and traditional Korean dances by a troupe from the Jindo National Gugak Center as well as creative “Marionette” performances by “Expression Crew,” a b-boy group, in the Arab region are expected to showcase both traditional and modern culture of Korea and raise interest of Arabs in Korean culture.

active public diplomacy toward Arab people based on mutual understanding.
