1. Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Morgulov in their capacity as top negotiators of the Republic of Korea and Russia on the North Korean nuclear issue in Vladivostok, Russia, on the afternoon of September 3.

2. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on the overall situation of the Korean Peninsula, including the outcome of Deputy Minister Morgulov’s recent visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

°  The two sides shared the understanding that it is imperative for United States-DPRK working-level negotiations to resume as soon as possible and agreed to work together to achieve substantial progress toward complete denuclearization and the establishment of lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
