1. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Sei-young called in Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Korea (ROK) Yasumasa Nagamine on the afternoon of August 23 to officially notify the Japanese government of the ROK government’s intent to terminate the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) between the ROK and Japan.

2. The two sides shared the understanding that it is important for the diplomatic authorities to continue dialogue in a bid to resolve the full range of issues regarding the ROK-Japan relations.
