1. The government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) expresses deep concern over the fact that responsible leaders of the government and the National Diet of Japan have once again sent offerings to and paid respects at the Yasukuni Shrine, which glorifies Japan’s past colonial rule and war of aggression and enshrines war criminals.

2. The ROK government urges the Japanese political leaders to demonstrate through action their sincere reflection and remorse for Japan’s past wrongdoings, and points out that only based on that attitude can the ROK-Japan relations advance in a future-oriented manner, and can Japan win trust from the international community.
