1. During his visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Stephen Biegun, U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, on July 11.

2. The two sides shared assessments on recent, positive developments on the Korean Peninsula, including the dialogue process reactivated by the historic meetings held at Panmunjeom on June 30 among the leaders of the Republic of Korea (ROK), the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the U.S. as well as between those of the U.S. and the DPRK.

3. The two sides also agreed to continue diplomatic efforts for early resumption of the U.S.-DPRK working-level negotiations as agreed by their leaders.

° The two sides also discussed in depth ways to work together for the working-level negotiations to lead to substantial progress toward the shared goal of the ROK and the U.S. -- complete denuclearization and the establishment of permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.
