ROK-U.S. Director-General-Level Meeting to Take Place to Follow up on Senior Economic Dialogue

1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have a director-general-level meeting between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the United States (U.S.) in Washington D.C. on July 11 to discuss the follow-up on the 3rd Senior Economic Dialogue.


※ The ROK and U.S. head delegates to the meeting will be Mr. Kim Hee-sang, Director-General for Bilateral Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Roland de Marcellus, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Finance and Development of the Department of State, respectively.

° In the meeting to take place ahead of the 4th ROK-U.S. Senior Economic Dialogue, the two sides will discuss in depth ways to expand bilateral economic cooperation in line with the New Southern Policy and the Indo-Pacific strategy, and to step up cooperation in areas such as healthcare security, women’s empowerment, and energy security.

2. During his visit to Washington D.C. for the aforementioned meeting, Mr. Kim Hee-sang, Director-General for Bilateral Economic Affairs, will meet with Mr. Marc Knapper, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Korea and Japan of the Department of State, for a discussion on matters of mutual interest.
