1. The government of the Republic of Korea welcomes the agreement reached by the Transitional Military Council and the Forces of Freedom and Change of the Republic of the Sudan on July 5 to form a transitional government, which reflects the Sudanese people’s aspiration for democratization.

2. The government of the Republic of Korea commends the government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the African Union for their mediation efforts regarding this agreement; and hopes that the Transitional Military Council and the Forces of Freedom and Change of Sudan will implement the agreement and continue dialogue toward an early settlement of the pending agenda.
