1. “Topkapi Palace Museum,” which is located in Istanbul, the Republic of Turkey, and famous for such exhibits as “the staff of Moses” and “the sword of David,” will start offering audio guide service in Korean on March 13, 2019.

2. In a bid to promote the convenience of Korean tourists who faced inconveniences at the Museum due to the absence of audio guide service in Korean, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea has consulted with the Museum on the possibility of setting up the audio guide system, offering assistance to the facility with its interpretation and recording efforts.

3. The newly installed audio guide system will be used to provide detailed explanations on the history and the structure of the Palace as well as relics from the Ottoman Empire. In that light, it is expected to contribute greatly to the efforts of Korean visitors to the Palace to learn about and understand the history of the Ottoman Empire.

° Director of Topkapi Palace Museum Ayse Erdogdu expressed hope that the audio guide service in Korean would help many more Koreans feel the beauty of the Turkish civilization.

4. The ROK Foreign Ministry, through communication with Korean people, will continue to check which major museums and galleries overseas they want audio guide service at, and will seek to make the service available at more facilities of the kind.
