1. Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, will visit Washington DC, the United States, from March 5 until 7 for a meeting with United States Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun in their capacity as top negotiators of the Republic of Korea and the United States on the North Korean nuclear issue, as well as consultations with other officials of the US administration on nuclear and other issues concerning the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

2. During the forthcoming visit to the US, the Special Representative will be briefed in detail about the outcome of the second US-North Korea summit; share with his US counterpart their respective assessments of the Hanoi summit; and discuss and fine-tune possible next steps, including an early resumption of follow-up dialogue between the US and the DPRK.
