1. During his visit to Japan to attend a meeting of the heads of the Republic of Korea’s diplomatic missions in Japan (Feb. 1), Director-General for Northeast Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kim Yong-kil met with Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau Kenji Kanasugi of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for an ROK-Japan Director-General-level meeting in Tokyo on January 31.

2. In the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest, including the ROK Supreme Court’s decision on forced labor victims, issues regarding a Japanese patrol plane, and other bilateral issues.
