1. Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, held a telephone conversation with Mr. Stephen Biegun, United States Special Representative for North Korea, on January 2.

2. During the conversation, the two sides shared their assessments on the North Korean leader’s New Year's address as well as the latest developments in contact between the US and North Korea. They also coordinated strategies for complete denuclearization and the establishment of a permanent peace regime on the Korean Peninsula, and agreed to maintain close consultations.
