1. Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha spoke by phone with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on June 12 at the request of the Secretary, and was briefed on the key results of the US-North Korea summit (June 12) held in Singapore. They also exchanged views on ways the ROK and the US can work together.

2. Secretary Pompeo explained the joint statement signed between the leaders of the US and North Korea. Minister Kang extended congratulations on the success of the US-North Korea summit, and expressed appreciation to Secretary Pompeo for sharing the results of the summit immediately after the end of the summit.

3. The two sides agreed to further strengthen close collaboration and communications between the diplomatic authorities of the ROK and the US to achieve the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and to make progress in establishing a lasting peace on the Peninsula, building upon the accomplishments from the US-North Korea summit.
