1. On June 10, Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha held a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan of Singapore at the latter’s request. Over the phone, Minister Balakrishnan shared with Minister Kang the outcome of his recent visit to North Korea and the progress in the preparations for the forthcoming US-North Korea summit talks, and discussed with her ways that the Republic of Korea and Singapore can work together in that regard.

2. Minister Balakrishnan took the opportunity to also share with Minister Kang the outcome of the meeting between Prime Minster Lee Hsien Loong and Chairman Kim Jong-un on June 10; and Singapore’s plan to make utmost diplomatic efforts toward the success of the US-North Korea summit meeting and to continue close consultations with the ROK to that end.
