1. On June 1, Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha met with Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim and other US delegates to the working-level consultations held between the US and North Korea at the truce village of Panmunjeom.

The US delegation shared with the Minister the outcome of its working-level meetings with North Korea held at Panmunjeom and the efforts in the lead-up to the forthcoming US-North Korea summit talks. Minister Kang, commending the delegation for its efforts, suggested that the ROK and the US maintain ironclad coordination as they had done throughout the course of the inter-Korean and US-North Korea meetings, and double diplomatic efforts to achieve a complete denuclearization and a lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
