1. The government of the Republic of Korea expresses concern over the fact that a number of civilians had been killed or injured during the protests in Gaza. The ROK government hopes that the situation will be put under control as soon as possible, and efforts to establish peace through negotiations will continue.

62 Palestinians were killed and about 3,000 wounded during the protests in Gaza from May 14 to 15.

2. The ROK government urges related parties to continue to cooperate with the international community’s efforts to establish a lasting peace between Israel and Palestine based on a two-state solution.

Considering the possible deterioration of the security situation in the Middle East caused by the changing situation there, the ROK government is strengthening measures to protect Korean nationals, including residents and tourists, through overseas diplomatic missions.
