1. The government of the Republic of Korea expresses deep regret over the fact that the government of Japan renewed unjustifiable claims to Dokdo, an integral part of the ROK’s territory, in the draft version of the revised courses of study for high schools released on February 14, and demands an immediate rectification.

2. The Japanese government should be well aware that the draft version of the revised courses of study for high schools will not only instill an erroneous territorial perspective in future generations of Japan but also have a negative impact on the future-oriented development of ROK-Japan relations.

3. The government of the Republic of Korea makes clear that it will under no circumstances tolerate and will respond resolutely to any provocations over Dokdo, clearly an integral part of the ROK’s territory historically, geographically and under international law.
