Travel-alert Level Adjusted for Lima, Peru

1. Considering the operations in Lima, Peru, to recover from the damage caused by El Nino, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lowered the travel-alert level for Lima from the previous “Yellow Alert (Highly Cautious)” to “Blue Alert (Precautious),” effective from June 7, 2017.

o The health emergency declared in Lima has been lifted among health emergencies declared by the government of Peru in regions affected by El Nino.

- The health emergencies declared in six provinces (Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash and Ica) except for Lima have been extended until August.

2. Given the aforementioned situation, the nationals of the Republic of Korea staying in Peru or planning to visit the country are advised to check the travel advisory issued by the Foreign Ministry and take heed to their safety.
