1. The Foreign Ministry has decided to issue Travel-alert Level 1, or Blue Alert (Precautious), for Singapore, effective from September 2.

° Amid the continued growth in the number of confirmed Zika virus cases and Zika virus spreading in more areas in Singapore of late, the decision has been made to advise the nationals of the Republic of Korea visiting or residing in Singapore to pay heed so as not to contract Zika virus.


2. The ROK nationals visiting or residing in Singapore are advised to avoid mosquito bites; use condoms and not donate blood; and ask pregnant women not to travel to affected areas. Those traveling to other Southeast Asian countries are also advised to thoroughly follow such guidelines to avoid contracting Zika virus.
