1. The Foreign Ministry, after being reported by the Consular Call Center that 62 nationals of the Republic of Korea could not be contacted in the wake of the terror-by-truck in Nice, France, has confirmed that all of them are safe.

2. The ROK Embassy in France sent four staff members to Nice, where they visited six major hospitals and confirmed that there were no ROK nationals on their lists of the injured; and found out that among the ROK nationals staying at four Korean-run lodges, no one had sustained damage or injuries.

° The officials at the Embassy will make a tour of other hospitals and Korean-run lodges to check whether any ROK national has sustained damage or injuries.

° In the case of the dead, given that it takes time to identify them, the Embassy will continue work to identify them in cooperation with the French authorities.

3. The Foreign Ministry’s rapid response team headed to Nice by flight OZ 501, where it, together the local consul, will check on damages and injuries sustained by ROK nationals and take other measures necessary for protecting Koreans in France.
