1. Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, on the heels of his visit to Russia from June 12 till 14, will visit Sofia, Bulgaria, on June 14 on 15 at the invitation of his Bulgarian counterpart Daniel Mitov.

2. Foreign Minister Yun will meet with Foreign Minister Mitov in Sofia on June 15. In the meeting, the two top diplomats will review the progress in the implementation of the follow-up measures after the official visit of President Rosen Plevneliev to the Republic of Korea and the bilateral summit talks in May 2015. They will also discuss ways to increase substantive cooperation in such sectors as energy infrastructure, science and technology; and ways to work more closely together on North Korean issues and on the international stage.

3. Minister Yun’s official visit to Bulgaria will mark the first of its kind by an ROK Foreign Minister since the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations in 1990. It is expected to help promote the ROK’s comprehensive, future-oriented partnership with Bulgaria, a major country in Southeast Europe.
