1. Director-General for European Affairs Ha Tae-youk of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROK and his counterpart Bayram Klychmammedov at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan will hold the first ROK-Turkmenistan policy consultation in Seoul on November 28.

2. In the upcoming consultation, the two sides will review the progress in the implementation of follow-up measures to the ROK-Turkmenistan summit, held in June this year, and discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.

o The two sides will discuss ways to expand cooperation in the energy and plant sectors, and ways to strengthen substantive cooperation, including supporting Korean companies’ entry into the Turkmen market, as well as plans to conclude an agreement on avoidance of double taxation and an investment promotion and protection agreement.

3. The policy consultation between the two countries takes place for the first time as part of the “Programme of Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries for 2014-2015,” signed during President Park Geun-hye’s visit to Turkmenistan in June this year.
